Negative Feedback Regarding Nosy Taxi Drivers

by Mylene Dela Cena (23 March 2010)

In a city or town, public transportation varies from cars, bus systems, trains, subways or taxicabs. But for those who want some privacy and a lot of convenience, the best choice is to get a taxicab. Yes, it cost much than the other options when commuting but taking a ride in a local London taxi is a quick and convenient way to go home, have a long trip or just a quick stop within the city.

However, does it irritate you when the cabby gives you a running commentary on the state of the nation while you ride at the back of his cab? Just when you planned to read some reports for your next meeting or relaxed and enjoys the scenery outside. This is what most of them are popularly known for, notoriety in sharing their bureaucratic beliefs and eagerness to tell you who they've had in the rear of their cab. It's such an annoyance for most of the passengers and with these trait they may soon face extra training on when to stop beating their gums.

According to John Mason, head of taxi regulation at Transport for London, while London cabbies have an extensive memory of the capital's streets in order to pass "The Knowledge", in this test, there are no inclusion of preparing the person in the driver's seat for a life as a cabby. Even himself thinks that sometimes it is really a must to keep the mouth shut especially if the driver sensed that his commuter is having a bad day or simply looked very tired. But then, with this frequent negative feedback from most of the cab commuters, he did not made any scheme of compelling "The Knowledge" aspirants to undergo a service constituent to their appraisal. But according to him, they will carry through to look at more contingent ways to increase their quality of service without sacrificing and invading their customer's peaceful and quiet journey.
